Kilkenny 0-20 Offaly 0-16

Inspired by Eoin Cody's sharp finishing, Kilkenny eventually overcame a determined Offaly at UPMC Nowlan Park.

Kilkenny struck five of the last seven points courtesy of Cody, Shane Murphy, Paddy Deegan, and Mossy Keoghan to defeat the Faithful County.

Early on Offaly were causing problems for Kilkenny, who trailed by two after 10 minutes.

Kilkenny responded as Cody reeled off four points on the spin for Derek Lyng's charges.

By the time the interval rolled around, Kilkenny, with Jordan Molloy effective, led by 0-9 to 0-6.

Adam Screeney was prominent for Offaly, while Luke Watkins also clipped a couple of points from play.

Offaly were only one point behind in the 66th minute, but Kilkenny closed out the deal to secure the spoils.

Scorers for Kilkenny: Eoin Cody 0-10 (8fs), Jordan Molloy, Mossy Keoghan 0-3 each, Gearoid Dunne, Cathal Beirne, Paddy Deegan, Shane Murphy 0-1 each.

Scorers for Offaly: Adam Screeney 0-9 (6fs), Luke Watkins 0-2, Dan Ravenhill, Patrick Taaffe, Daniel Bourke, Oisin Kelly, Ciaran Cleary 0-1 each.
