It was another busy weekend in the AIB Club Camogie Championships, with the Munster senior semi-finals topping the bill on Saturday afternoon.

Cork champions St Finbarr’s need two rounds of extra-time to see off Limerick representatives Newcastle West, as the teams went point for point throughout.

‘The Barrs’, playing at home in Togher, eventually prevailed 2-19 to 3-14, with county star Sorcha McCartan contributing 1-9.

It finished 2-10 apiece after 60 minutes of action. Extra-time also failed to separate the teams, with the score-line reading 2-16 to 3-13.

However, the hosts eventually found another gear late on the reach the provincial showpiece.

They will now face De La Salle, who also came through a nail-biter.

The Waterford champs were pushed all the way by Thurles Sarsfields, but ultimately prevailed 2-21 to 3-16.

Maggie Gostl’s 2-4 and Beth Carton’s 0-10 were telling for De La Salle, while Caoimhe Stakelum (0-13) and Lauran Loughnane (2-2).

There were also a number of significant club clashes in Leinster and Ulster throughout the weekend.

Dunboyne are AIB Leinster Junior A champions, after a 0-12 to 1-8 win over St Lazarian’s of Laois. (St Kevin’s of Louth overcame Setanta of Carlow in the Junior B decider, 2-17 to 0-9. Meanwhile, Meath’s Na Fianna and Laois’ Camross progressed to the intermediate decider.

Antrim’s Brídíní Óga are Ulster Junior A champions, after beating St Canice’s Dungiven, 4-6 to 0-12. Meanwhile, Éire Óg Carrickmore overcame Derrynoose in the Junior B final.
