Darragh Corcoran excited about Henry Shefflin's appointment

"Henry coming in is massive for Kilkenny, really," Shamrocks Ballyhale Darragh Corcoran says about the recent appointment of Henry Shefflin as manager of the striped senior inter-county team.

Corcoran is excited about Shefflin taking charge of Kilkenny for the 2027 campaign. "You've seen what he has done as a player, and I've had him with Ballyhale, and found him very good," Corcoran adds.

"So, I'm excited to get going."

A sense of hope and expectation exists in Kilkenny. "There definitely is, you can even see in the club championship at the moment, players are putting up their hand," Corcoran responds.

"It's about finding them players, and hopefully pushing on for next year. A bit of freshness next year, with Henry coming in, a new management team, hopefully we can just push on, and right a few of the wrongs from last year."

Not earning a top three finish in Leinster hurt Kilkenny deeply in 2026. "It didn't go to plan with Kilkenny this year, but the thing about it is you just get to go back with the club, put the head down, and focus on the club championship," Corcoran says.

"We're in the thick of it at the moment, and enjoying it."
