'Have A Go' hurling and camogie events taking place for Heritage Week

‘Have A Go’ hurling and camogie events will take place around the country for Heritage Week.
A series of ‘Have A Go’ hurling and camogie events will take place around the country for Heritage Week.

The events will give children aged 8 to 10 the opportunity to pick up a hurley, try something new, and have fun playing our national sport.

They’re designed to be a very welcoming introduction to hurling and camogie in a fun and relaxed environment and are aimed particularly at children who might not have had the opportunity to play before.

The events will take place in Antrim, Louth, Longford, Galway, and Leitrim between Saturday, August 15 and Saturday August 22.

A number of special guests including county team players will be present at the venues and each child who attends will get a free t-shirt.

Any child who enjoys the experience can then be linked with an established club in their local area if they don’t already have one.

Details and registration links for all the ‘Have A Go’ hurling and camogie events for Heritage Week 2026 can be viewed below.
