Wicklow 0-14 Waterford 0-9

Wicklow kept their promotion hopes alive, finishing strongly at Cappoquin Logistics Fraher Field on Saturday evening.

Oisin McConville’s men were inspired by the evergreen Dean Healy, who shot three points, while Dermot Ryan was Waterford’s driving force with four points.

Waterford have now lost three out of three and any hopes they might have harboured of promotion now look a long shot.

They had James Walsh sent off late on after he got a yellow and a black card in seconds, which was followed by a red.

Oisin McConville’s Wicklow moved joint top of the table overnight, with leaders Carlow playing on Sunday.

Despite only hitting 14 points in the awful conditions they had a good spread of scorers with seven players finding the target.
